Amway Body Series Shower Gel "Refreshing Body Gel"

On the packaging of the gel, you can read the promises of harmless cleansing of the skin with a product made from coconut and corn kernels. It looks like a tempting alternative to conventional “chemical” products. However, during our tests, the product from Amway could not show a careful effect. As a result, in the ranking of shower gels, he took only 15th place.

In our tests, 40 women with different skin types spent daily washing with various shower gels for four days. It was a “blind” test - participants did not know which product they were using. In their reviews, they wrote that the Amway Body Series foams well, but dries the skin. We found out that the main detergent component of the Amway Body Series, as in other gels, is sodium laureth sulfate (you can compare the composition with Dove gel “Deep nutrition and hydration”). This is not the most benign ingredient, so it is usually supplemented with caring ingredients. Amway gel is soy protein, but its content is less than 1.5%. In addition, as a result of laboratory tests, we learned that it is not a concentrate at all (as the distributors of these products usually state) - it contains only 20.1% of detergent and moisturizing ingredients, so it does not need to be diluted with water.

According to the manufacturer, “Mild Cleanser” should very effectively deal with such contaminants as limescale, soap smudges and stubborn dirt. It is also claimed that it is a concentrated product that should be spent more economically than others. In general, in our tests, the product Amway showed good results, but not better than the leaders of the rating of universal cleaning products (and eventually won 2nd place). At the same time, we found that it copes poorly with the removal of lime scale, is not a concentrate (and, accordingly, is quickly consumed) and 3-5 times more expensive funds with the same efficiency. During tests of universal detergents, Product-test.ru experts tested L.O.C. Amway Home on soft and hard soot, hard fat, rust and limescale. In these tests, it showed good results compared to other means, but we still did not see high performance. The cream could not cope with the limescale, and in order to wash other contaminants, it had to spend a lot and soak it for a long time. As a result, Frosch Cleansing Milk Lemon surpassed it in detergent properties. In composition, it is slightly different from Amway Home L.O.C. - Based on both products, calcium carbonate and detergent components.

Our German colleagues from Oko-test also tested the quality of Amway products. So, they have tested the cleaning agent L.O.C. and got similar results. His total score was no higher than three points on a 5-point scale. In addition, they evaluated the safety of the product, but even here the result was only “satisfactory”: the researchers found formaldehyde and polycyclic musk in the composition (it can cause photosensitivity).

I think that caring for curly hair is a huge job. I tried a lot of tools, made a bunch of mistakes in the care, but I did not give up! And now I want to share with you my care for curly hair.

About my hair: dry, porous, thin, naughty, curly, never dyed, 2 times shorn under a square.

I'll start with the background
As a child I was very curly and my mother could not comb my hair, because I did not let her do this (it was painful for me, as they were always tangled).

I always went to the school until I was 11 years old with braids, as it was the easiest way to pacify my mane (and the hair from the braids was straighter). I used to have my head washed with ordinary shampoo, I didn’t have any masks, balms, I combed my hair very hard, constantly drank them.

And once during the summer holidays in Tiraspol (as there is terrible heat), I begged my mother to cut me under the square (I was about 11 years old then). It was a terrible mistake! I still regret it. It is a pity that there is no photo. Then I did not understand how beautiful my hair was. But I was madly in love with this car, but I liked it so much that after a couple of years I repeated it in my town, but it was not a success. Until now, with a shudder, I remember my “stubs” of hair, my tears after this “haircut”. In the photo below, they are already 4 centimeter centimeters. So imagine what happened before. Nightmare!
I started hair care only in 2012 at the end of the 2nd year of university. After I trimmed the tips, I went to the pharmacy and bought my first oil - jojoba oil. Then I learned that pharmacy oils are not of the best quality, and began ordering them online.

I began to restore hair with the help of oils.I tried a ton of oil, it makes no sense to paint everything.

Homemade masochki
When I started to restore the hair, I did oil masks 3-4 times a week, once a week I would leave the mask for the night. Now I make oil masks 2 times a week (and sometimes 1) before washing my hair and that's enough for me.
It is advisable to leave the oil mask overnight, but should be applied only on the length.
On the roots of hair, such masks are better not to hold for more than 2 hours, since they can clog pores, and as a result, hair loss will increase, they will get fatty more quickly.
IMPORTANT: In no case should essential oils be mixed with a metal spoon! Only wooden or, in extreme cases, plastic.
The main thing to do masks regularly and not be lazy!

1. Mask with coconut oil
We will need: coconut oil
I comb my hair, take some oil (the melting point of the oil is 25˚), rub it in my palms and apply it on my hair with “lumpy” movements, as if pressing oil on my hair (I apply only the length). I comb my hair with a comb so that the oil is better distributed over the hair (I do this for all the oil masks). Next, twirl hair in a bun,I put on a bag, a hat and go to sleep (but more often I just braid my hair in a braid or make a bun, I put a towel on the pillow and I sleep). In the morning I wash everything.
Recently, just doing it.

2. Kefir mask
We will need:
- 1 cup of kefir (better fatter)
- 7 drops of lavender essential oil
- 7 drops of sage essential oil
- sometimes add cocoa
I heat the kefir in a water bath (you can warm it up in a microwave), add essential oils and mix it. I put this mixture on the roots and the entire length of the hair, twirl the bundle, put on the bag, hat and walk until I get tired (at least an hour, usually about 3 hours). After washing everything off with warm water and my head as usual.

3. Sour cream with cocoa
We will need:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 7 drops of lavender essential oil (or any other essential oil)
- cocoa powder
The principle is the same as with kefir mask.
Sour cream + cocoa heated in a water bath (can be heated in a microwave), add essential oils to the mixture and mix. I put the mask on the roots and the length of the hair, twirl the bunch, put on the package, the cap (I walk about 3 hours). After washing everything off with warm water and my head as usual.

4. Egg mask with honey and aloe
As you know, how well the hair formed in the bulb, so good hair will be in the future. That is, you need to take good care of the scalp, drink vitamins so that the hair is initially formed strong and healthy.
We will need:
- aloe pulp (or aloe gel)
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 2 yolks
- burdock oil (or any base oil)
- 7 drops of ylang-ylang essential oil
- 6 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin A and E
Mix the pulp or aloe gel with honey, yolk, burdock oil, essential oil of ylang-ylang and rosemary + vitamins A and E. Put the mixture on the hair roots, twist the bundle, put on the bag and cap.
I walk with her for an hour, then wash off with warm water and my head as usual.

5. Supermix oils
We will need:
- 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil
- cacao butter
- Shea Butter
- almond oil
- hemp oil
- jojoba oil
- walnut oil
-olive oil
- pumpkin seed oil
- Essential oil of lavender, sage, rosemary (sometimes I add another patchouli and ylang-ylang)
On a water bath, melt cocoa butter and shea butter, when the mixture cools (barely warm), add the following oils: almond, hemp, jojoba, walnut, olive, pumpkin. All mix. Then add the oils of lavender, sage, patchouli and ylang-ylang (about 5 drops each). Again, stir.
Apply to the length of hair for 2 hours (and preferably at 3, it is possible at night). The mask turns out very oily, but the effect of it is amazing.

6. Sea buckthorn oil
To nourish the hair roots, I like to make such a mask:
- sea buckthorn oil
rosemary essential oil
- 1 teaspoon of vitamin A and E
I mix everything, put a mask on the roots (you can also be long), put on a bag, a cap and walk for an hour. Then I wash it off with warm water and my head as usual.
Carefully, sea buckthorn oil is very well painted!

Girls, do not expect miracles from oils after the first application! To be the result, you need to use oils regularly (at least for two or three months). I restored my hair that was killed by mistreatment with oils for a very long time (more than a year for sure). And a small result appeared, personally for me, only in half a year! But when I saw him, I was extremely happy. The result was worth all my efforts.
Oils provide prevention of cross-section and breakage. It provides, and does not treat already damaged and split ends. You only need to cut off the cut hair and nothing else! And only then treat with oils and other means (more on that below)
IMPORTANT! If you have completely dead hair on your head (improper lightening, dyeing, chemical waving, ironing hair and the like), then NOTHING will save your hair! There is only one way out - to cut off everything and start growing.

7 steps for the beauty of your hair.

So, the first step - cleansing hair. It includes shampoos.

My secrets for caring for curly hair:

1. Combing (7th step).
About how to comb, I wrote in this article. I think here I will not repeat more.

2. Proper shampooing.
My hair is upside down.
I think it is right to wash my hair like this: first, I thoroughly urinate my head warm! water, then pour the shampoo on the palm, foaming it and only then put it on the roots! hair, gently massaging the scalp (foam flows down through the hair, the hair itself does not rub!). Then again I pour the shampoo on the palm of my hand and repeat the procedure, that is, I wash my head 2 times (the first time the dirt is washed off, styling products from the hair ...). After that, thoroughly rinse the hair from the shampoo with warm water, then gently squeeze the water from the hair to apply the mask (balm, conditioner), maintain the allotted time so that the mask (balm, conditioner) acts and rinses the hair with cool water (with this action we close the hair flakes , making our hair smooth and shiny).
But if I made greasy oil masks, or styled my hair with a lot of styling products, or if I was washing my head with deep cleaning shampoo (SHGO), then I gently distribute the foam along the length of the hair.
IMPORTANT! You can not wash your hair with hot water, as the sebaceous glands on our head begin to work actively, and the hair will very quickly become oily, and may even lose its luster.
It is necessary to wash hair only in process of pollution!

2.1. Shampoo (1st stage)
My requirements for shampoos:
The first and most important thing is that they should clean their hair well.
Second, should not exacerbate existing problems.
Third, fit my scalp type.
Fourth, for each season there should be a shampoo.
I try to use organic shampoos and alternate them before each shampooing (my favorites: solid Amla and Chamomile shampoo from Olesya Mustayeva Workshop, Organic Tai shampoo Frangipani,gel-cream for washing the head from ChocoLatte "White Grapes", "Strawberry", "Citrus").

But, in some masks I have Amodimethicone. After using these masks (for example, the mask from Angel is orange), I wash my head with a profeshampoon.

Amodimethicone does not tend to create strong layers, does not dissolve in water, however, it is completely washed out with shampoos with Lauryl Sulfate (lauryl sulfate), Laureth Sulfate (laureth sulfate) or Cocamidopropil Betaine (cocamidopropyl betaine).

For the summer I bought myself a pair of professional shampoos: Angel Professional shampoo Solar seriesand deep cleansing shampoo (GOSH) also from Angel Professional, which I will use once a month, since I use masks with silicones.
GOSH (or SHGO) - is intended for deep cleansing of hair from various impurities that have accumulated in them. If your hair is infused with masks and other care products (varnishes, skins ...), hang icicles, become dull, then you need a deep cleaning shampoo. Ordinary shampoos wash out only surface dirt, and the dirt inside the hair continues to accumulate.

2.2. Masks, balms, conditioners. (2nd step)
Now I use professional masks for length, and organic masks on the roots (I used to love organic care only, he recovered my hair very well, but now they are too long (64 cm), there is little moisture and protection from organic matter. Therefore, about 1 , 5 years ago I switched to prof).
IMPORTANT! No need to climb into the mask with wet hands (as taking a bath or shower, water gets into the mask), it is better to use a wooden spoon or a spatula for that, or try to wipe your hands.

I also really like Angel Professional MARINE DEPTH SPA CONDITIONER hair conditioner.
I apply masks (balms, conditioners) like this: after washing my head 2 times, I gently squeeze (do not twist) the hair to remove excess moisture that will interfere with the mask (or conditioner) soak well (you can wrap them in a towel absorb this excess moisture), and then apply an organic mask on the roots, and a professional mask on the length. I withstand the necessary time, wash off with cool water (again, cool in order to close the hair flakes).
My head, I 2 times a week at night (but sometimes at important events to curls lay better in the morning). For the first time (Wednesday) I put a mask on the length, and the second time (Sunday) conditioner. I put an organic mask on the roots every time.
After each shampooing, I try to rinse my hair with herbs.

Ampoule care - albeit a rare, but indispensable care for my hair. With him hair just come alive! I use the ampoule once every two weeks.
I tried only 3 ampoules (from Selective, Dikson and Lakme). The last I loved the most.
How to use the ampoule from Lakme
I use the ampoule after shampoo, apply the product for about 15 minutes on wet towel-wrung hair. When you pour the product on the palm, you immediately feel the warming effect. It is necessary to pour very carefully so as not to spill. Maslitse over the entire length of the hair must be carefully distributed (about 15 centimeters away from the roots), beat the foam with “zhamkam” movements (be sure to beat until foam, otherwise there will be no result! After applying air conditioner (or balm). I keep 5-10 minutes and wash off cool! water I spend the procedure every two weeks and I consider it sufficient for my hair.

4. Drying hair
After I washed my head (point 2), I wrapped my hair with a towel (like a turban) and walked for a minute or two (no more than 5) so that the excess moisture was absorbed.
Then I gently unwind the turban and gently blot my hair without rubbing it.
Tip: If you blow-dry your hair, then dry it better with cold air using a diffuser attachment and be sure to apply thermal protection (and if you straighten your hair, thermal protection will help you, without it there is a risk of severely damaging your hair)! This is my personal opinion.
